Experts will prepare the documents of young, small and new farmers free of charge when applying for the Strategic Plan – 2024-09-27 15:17:00

Experts from the National Service of Advice in Agriculture (NSSZ) will prepare all documents free of charge when applying for young, small and new farmers under the investment interventions of the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas 2023-2027. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and nutrition Dr. Lozana Vasileva during a meeting with farmers in Pleven, which was also attended by farmers from the Lovech region. The meeting is part of the series of trainings of the Ministry of Health on the requirements of the interventions of the Plan. Dr. Vasileva also said that farmers’ associations in producers’ groups and organizations will have priority in approving the project proposals.

She called on the producers to unite and explained that it is in Pleven that there is already an approved project proposal for cooperation under the procedure “Centers for preparation for marketing and storage of fruits and vegetables” by the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NRSP). With it, the process of offering the market of agricultural produce from the “Fruits and vegetables” sector by creating short chains will be supported. Deputy Minister Vasileva pointed out that the approved investments under the NPVU of farmers from the two regions are for over BGN 24 million. She also announced that in the Pleven region under the “Investments in technological and ecological modernization” procedure, 50 financing contracts were concluded with a total grant amount of over BGN 11.6 million, and in the Lovech region 51 contracts with support for over 12 million BGN.

“Financial support will create new opportunities for digitization and automation of farms,” emphasized the deputy minister. During the meeting, farmers had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new developments in the Strategic Plan and hold a discussion with experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Fund “Agriculture” and the NSSZ. New functions have been created in the Electronic Management System (EMS) with which farmers and the administration can improve their communication. “All upcoming admissions under the interventions of the Strategic Plan will be through the SEU”, specified Dr. Vasileva and added that a practical training course for working with the system is planned.

The changes to the Area Monitoring System, which carries out control through satellite images, were presented. The requirements for farmers in the implementation of the system of preconditions, the Standards for maintaining the land in good agricultural and ecological condition (DZES), as well as the changes in the Statutory Requirements (LSR) were also explained. As part of the training, the receptions on the investment measures from the Strategic Plan, scheduled to start by the end of 2024, were also presented.
