They’re unlikely to turn the tide, but they can mess up someone else’s accounts further down the leaderboard. There is a redistribution, since we do not have a “foreign” constituency, the votes are distributed. This is a blunder that sets a precedent. I expect not so much a shower of political resignations as some change in the way this professional independent body is constructed. This is how the political scientist Prof. Rosen Stoyanov commented in the studio of “Denyat ON AIR” the announcement from the CEC about the sections that were not included in the results.
According to PR expert and writer Nidal Alghafari, nothing will change the outcome.
“This casts doubt on the electoral process in the country. If we go to another election, soon people will not want to vote. They must come up with logical explanations, otherwise we are left with the grave suspicion that there is manipulation,” Algaffari told Bulgaria ON AIR.
When there is such a precedent and it is publicly announced, we cannot help but think that even in previous elections something similar happened, Prof. Stoyanov commented.
“We want to convey all the positivism so that the situation does not heat up further. More and more people are demotivated. The institutions have made it so that the mass of people do not trust them. The problem is in the institutionality and statehood,” the political scientist believes.
Alghafari commented on the silence after the election vote and the statement that came from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” that they will not support a GERB cabinet.
“Before they spoke from “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria” maybe they had options where they expected or held talks. The moment they came out and said firmly that they will not support the GERB party, it means that they are stumbling for once again like donkeys on a bridge. They do not contribute anything good to statehood, stability. If “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria” had supported GERB, they would be both in opposition and in power. The three parties of the status quo together, maybe with Slavi, maybe and without him, to form a government at least until the local elections,” urged the PR expert.
Prof. Stoyanov highlighted Hristo Ivanov’s request for a possible option. “After they said the first step, that they will not support those who rightfully get the first mandate, we suppose they should also say the option they would propose,” explained the political scientist.
