Experts Warn of Threat to Humanity from Artificial Intelligence

A group of technology and science experts has warned that the rise of artificial intelligence may pose a threat to humanity and threaten it with extinction.

This came in a statement published by a group of experts and business leaders, including the creator of ChatGPT, Sam Altman, on Tuesday.

The statement said that countering threats related to artificial intelligence should be “a global priority, similar to the risks related to epidemics and nuclear wars.”

And last March, many technology experts around the world, including billionaire Elon Musk, called for a six-month hiatus from research aimed at finding more powerful artificial intelligence technologies than ChatGPT.

They expressed their fears about the “great dangers to humanity” that this technology could pose.

Musk co-founded OpenAI before leaving its board of directors in 2018.

The creator of ChatGPT, Sam Altman, never ceases to express his fears that artificial intelligence can cause “serious damage to the world” by falsifying election results, or replacing hundreds of thousands of jobs and radically changing the labor market.

The experts’ statement made a proposal to establish an international body to monitor and reduce the risks of artificial intelligence activities, similar to the International Atomic Energy Agency in its role towards nuclear weapons.
