By the end of September, the United States, Canada, Britain and the EU will have so many vaccines against Kovid-19 that they will be able to provide about 500 million doses to other countries without affecting their vaccination campaigns. This is shown by data from the analytical company Airfinity, quoted by DPA.
Experts also predict that coronavirus vaccines will continue to become increasingly available, with 12 billion doses produced by the end of 2021, BTA reported.
Nearly half of that amount will come from Chinese manufacturers and the other half from Western companies, according to Airfinite.
Currently, every third person in the world is fully vaccinated against Kovid-19.
The latest data confirm that vaccines are very effective against the virus, especially against severe cases, which also applies to the highly contagious Delta variant.
The vaccines overshadow the progress made in the treatment of Kovid-19, said Rasmus Beh Hansen, head of the analyst firm.
There are currently eight generally accepted treatments – a development that has saved millions of lives, he added.
The supply of vaccines to Africa, for example, will be so strong next year that the question will no longer be whether people can be vaccinated, but rather whether they want to be vaccinated, said Pfizer CEO Albert Burla. He expects 4 billion doses of the company’s product to be produced by 2022.
