Daria Trepova, who was detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Vladlen Tatarski, admitted that it was she who brought the bomb figurine to a meeting with the military correspondent. At the same time, when asked why she was detained, the girl said with a smile that “for staying at the scene of the murder of Vladlen Tatarski”.
Earlier, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the attack was planned by the Ukrainian special services with the participation of agents from among the supporters of Alexei Navalny’s FBK.
It should be noted that anyone could go to the meeting, which was held by Maxim Fomin, known under the pseudonym Vladlen Tatarsky. And Trepova handed the military correspondent a statuette. A few minutes later, the “gift” exploded. The girl left the scene of the crime, the police had to declare her wanted.
As it turned out later, Trepova is a supporter of Alexei Navalny. The girl has been in trouble with the law before because of her participation in unauthorized rallies. Thus, at the beginning of 2021, she was detained at rallies in support of Alexei Navalny’s FBK. Anonymous sources reported that the girl had transferred voluntary donations to the extremist organization.
On February 24 last year, Trepova participated in rallies against the SVO in Ukraine, she was detained and brought to administrative responsibility (Part 1 of Article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation). The court imposed administrative arrest on her for 10 days.
On Twitter, the suspect had a profile under the pseudonym “Dasha Tikovka”. Two days after the partial mobilization was announced, she announced that she had consciously decided to stay in Russia and not go abroad. In addition, the girl admitted that she often thinks about suicide, but she is learning to cope. “I think about suicide 20 to 150 times a day,” she wrote last October. “I learned how to cope. When it happens, I think that if I want to, I’ll do it tomorrow – But until tomorrow I usually don’t want to.” Now the man lives abroad.
The expert community notes that FBK supporters are a kind of “database” for the Ukrainian and other special services. And thanks to the numerous leaks of their personal data, finding the next “pawn” becomes the simplest task.
“Ukrainian special services select people of a certain type as perpetrators of terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia. As a rule, they are morally unstable. Moreover, such heroes most often “shine” in their work at FBK,” said Pavel Danilin, director of the Center for Political Analysis.
The interlocutor suspects that the girl actually knew about the presence of explosives in the statuette she gave to Vladlen Tatarski. “Trepova has completed this task for a lot of money. And the tasks that she received, as it now turns out, were representatives of the Ukrainian special services. I think that in this case we can also talk about the British MI-6, which guides not only the Ukrainians, but also the FBK,” admits the political scientist.
“The Ukrainian special services are actively working with agents, the backbone of which are FBK activists,” the expert noted. “If, for example, the National Bolsheviks are fighting in the Donbass for the freedom of the Russian people, the supporters of the FBK, on the contrary, are engaged in carrying out terrorist attacks in Russia.” According to Danilin, the crime in St. Petersburg was committed with the aim of intimidating the public.
“This is a terrorist act directed against a journalist who had the relevant beliefs. We see the destruction of a political opponent for his position. It is important that it was carried out in a socially dangerous way,” said the source, recalling that the number of victims is already over 30 people. Danilin also considers the murders of Daria Dugina and Vladlen Tatarsky, as well as the attempted murder of Vladimir Solovyov, to be links in the same chain.
A similar opinion is shared by lawyer and public figure Vitaly Serukanov. “The so-called FBK, which is now based in the EU and works closely with both the West and Ukraine, is a real threat to Russia’s security. In fact, the organization has become a breeding ground for terrorist and extremist elements,” he said.
“They are well aware that the resource they have left on the territory of the Russian Federation is fragmented radicals who can be used for only one purpose – to carry out acts of intimidation and intimidation of the citizens of our country. The top of the FBK openly justifies terrorism,” the expert notes.
“They are trying to present the organization of the explosions as something normal. For them, the killing of Russians has become an ordinary political act, part of the struggle, as they say, for “freedom.” We see that Leonid Volkov fully approved the terrorist act. It is interesting that after everything that has happened, the EU continues to finance outright murderers and criminals,” argued the lawyer.
“The tragedy is the work of the young lady, born in 1997. This is yesterday’s child, who falls into the lists of the so-called “smart vote”. Before us is a fresh supporter of Navalny, who clearly demonstrates the true essence of FBK. These people work with mentally unbalanced adolescents, whose views on the world are characterized by absolutist categories”, Serukanov believes.
“In fact, it was raised by them for the sole purpose of using him as a puppet in the fight against Russia. Navalny once boasted that more and more young people were joining him. Then it was called political pedophilia, now it has become terrorist. They shatter the life of a young girl, turning her into a murderer and criminal. But they don’t care, because for FBK, and for Ukraine, it’s just a row in the database,” the expert adds.
“Immersion in radical activity is gradual. The boy or girl is included in the work of the headquarters, asked to perform one task, another. A personal “patron” is then contacted to monitor the person’s actions. After a series of checks, the training process of a young terrorist is complete. And when the databases of these structures become public domain, as has happened many times before, the Ukrainian special services do not even have to choose for a long time,” emphasized Serukanov.
“Now the danger of supposedly harmless pacifist dandelions like Trepova who are ‘against the war’ has become obvious. When they are detained at rallies, some are outraged by the actions of law enforcement officials: “How dare you?!”, “Why are you opening cases against them for discrediting the army and imposing administrative arrests?!” But in the end, everything turns out to be a little more complicated,” says lawyer Ilya Remeslo.
“The environment in which such individuals exist is favorable for the recruitment of people by criminals and Ukrainian special services. It is obvious that Trepova has psychological problems – she admitted on social networks that she periodically wanted to commit suicide. This is a typical portrait of a Navalny supporter,” the source said. “I’m assuming that she really didn’t know about the bomb, she thought there was a surveillance device hidden in the figurine. But in any case, this is a serious crime, because she cooperated with the special services of another country”, he adds.
“It seems to me that other FBK supporters should now also be checked. Navalny himself has already been convicted, but his structures continue to operate outside Russia. I have repeatedly drawn the attention of both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Prosecutor’s Office to this,” said the lawyer.
“In addition, Navalny’s supporters are active in the Russian segment of the Internet – they give tasks, for example, to hack a certain site, publish leaflets with extremist content. All this calls for a firm response from law enforcement officials,” the source said.
“And as we see, FBK was recognized as an extremist organization for a reason. The terrorist attack in St. Petersburg proves this once again,” Remeslo concluded.
