Wuhan (China): The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the corona virus that causes Kovid-19 can be spread from bats or frozen foods. However, Peter Ben Embarek, the head of the team that investigated the first discovery of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan, said it was unlikely they had been accidentally taken out of any laboratory. The corona virus was first detected in the seafood market in Wuhan at the end of 2019. It was alleged that the virus had spread from a lab in Wuhan.
The team of experts from 10 countries said that the way the virus got to humans was complex and that it could have been transmitted to humans from bats, a rich source of the corona virus, through some other medium. Liang Wanian, head of a team of experts in China, said the virus may have spread to Wuhan or elsewhere weeks before Kovid was first discovered on December 19.
There were many people in the Wuhan market selling frozen meat of wildlife. Embarek said there was a high risk of the virus spreading from these. The team visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which has been accused of being the source of the virus, and the seafood market in Huanan, where Kovid was active. The team said more detailed study was needed.
At the same time, the U.S. said it would cooperate in efforts to prevent the Kovid epidemic. The Trump administration in the United States has previously been reluctant to cooperate with the World Health Organization over allegations against China.
