It has recently stormed Princess Märtha Louise (51) and her fiancé Durek Verrett (47)..
Verrett received strong criticism after making statements related to his own coronary heart disease – allegedly refused to receive medical treatment.
– Save them from being expelled from the family
Princess Märtha Louise has lost several patronsand this week the result also came out an examination that proved daunting for the princess.
In a comment in The online newspaper the political editor, Erik Stephansen, concluded by saying that Princess Märtha Louise should be “stripped of her titles and relieved of her royal duties” as soon as possible.
–
Saturday also wrote Look and listen that there have been crisis meetings at the castle – between King Harald, Crown Prince Haakon and the Princess. In the meetings the title of princess had to be discussed.
Earlier this week, it was also known that the Danish queen Margrethe (82) they chose to deprive their grandchildren of the titles of prince and princess.
Dagbladet spoke to a group of experts about the storm surrounding Princess Märtha Louise and Verrett – and the title of the former.
Meet Marius Borg Høiby
– The Shaman effect
Swedish royal expert Johan T. Lindwall doesn’t think we should worry too much about the NRK opinion poll.
– This is a clear Durek effect, you can call it a shaman effect, it’s not about Princess Märtha Louise as a person – it’s about the statements her future husband has been making for the past two years, Lindwall says and adds:
–
– Where the Norwegian population seems to have had enough.
The expert of the Swedish royal house is quite clear that he Not it seems that the time has come for Märtha Louise to lose her title of princess.
– Absolutely not, you can’t do this just because of a poll and the fact that it’s plummeting a bit.
He also believes that what is happening in Denmark – as has also happened in Sweden – should not be compared with the Norwegian princess. The royal house expert believes these are completely different things.
It took three hours
– This is an effect of the shaman, all the statements he made. People have had enough. If things calm down now and he stays calm, there will be better numbers next time such a test is done.
– People forget quickly. Keep the ice in your stomach, I say, it will pass, Lindwall concludes.
– Depending on people’s trust
Of course, Se og Hør’s royal house expert, Caroline Vagle, has also kept up with the poll, debate and what has recently happened in Denmark.
–
– I’ve long said that I think people make a clear distinction between what Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett stand for and what the royal couple and the crown prince’s couple represent. However, this survey shows that people want more distance than I thought. The royal house must take it seriously. After all, they completely depend on people’s trust.
It also refers to the king’s earlier statement that they should have talked to Verrett.
– Shocked by this decision
– The king said I’m in a trial and I think that means there will be changes. The princess may, for example, completely stop representing the royal house. Of course, the difference will not be that great, since it already accounts for a small part.
– An even stronger signal will be if she renounces the title of princess. She obviously always wants to be the king’s daughter and is associated with that, but she is even more free to do what she wants. I think maybe it would be easier for all parties, continues Vagle.
However, the Royal House expert does not believe that losing such a title is simply simple.
–
– At the same time, we see from the noise in Denmark about titles that it is a lot about identity and that it may not be as easy to give up or be deprived of a title as we would think.
Vagle sees a trend in royal houses to reduce both the number of titles and the number of jobs.
– Just look at Great Britain, Sweden and now Denmark.
The royal house expert doesn’t overlook the fact that our royal couple has now had a dialogue with Queen Margrethe.
– Great discord internally
– I am sure they are talking about it together across national borders and we know that Queen Margrethe and the Norwegian royal couple are particularly close to each other. She was in Norway at the latest on Monday this week and it is not unlikely that they also discussed the joint challenges with family titles.
– Both father and king
Morten Malmø, the author of the book “Gullkorn fra King Harald V”, believes that the king is in a difficult situation.
– I think it’s probably a good idea to have clearer driving rules, I think a lot of people have been irritated by what happened, he tells Dagbladet.
–
He points out that in his opinion “the speech of the people over the cup of coffee” is much more acute than what emerges in the public debate.
– People just don’t understand the shaman thing, they don’t make sense at all.
– Do you think the king could deprive her of her title?
– I don’t know, then he is in a very difficult situation, because he is both father and king. Perhaps it is also a possibility, if Märtha and the shaman could calm down a little, a lot would have been done.
– My children are very sad
– But it must be something the family takes aboard.
– A signal to the royal house
Author Tor Bomann-Larsen has written several books about the royal family, he believes that the Norwegian people sympathize with Princess Märtha Louise purely as a human being.
– I don’t think this investigation, the negative result, is aimed at the princess as a person, Bomann-Larsen tells Dagbladet.
The author believes that it is his being associated with Verrett’s statements.
–
– It is not strange that it does, the way they act together, and the investigation is proof of that. It is about how people perceive it, and when it is perceived that way, it is enough.
Bomann-Larsen doesn’t want to say anything about how the royal family should handle the situation.
– I was shocked
– The investigation is a signal to the royal house, which they need to take seriously, but they probably do, he tells Dagbladet.
Dagbladet has been in contact with the castle’s communications officer, Guri Varpe, who claims he has no comment on the matter.
Dagbladet also sought to reach out to Princess Märtha Louise’s manager, Carina Scheele Carlsen, for comment on the subject – so far without success.
