Berlin – THIS shock sentence touches all of Germany!
“Every fifth child who answers has thoughts of suicide,” says pastor Bernd Janning (38, krisenchat.de).
The pastor reported to Chancellor Angela Merkel (66, CDU) on Wednesday in her Corona citizen consultation about the dramatic situation: Depression, no joie de vivre, locked at home – thousands of children suffer from the lockdown.
BILD documents anonymized chat contributions as they have been collected by the thousands by psychologists and pastors in the past few weeks …
► Nadine (17), trainee from Cologne: “I just miss everything! Party, meet friends. We all get on each other’s nerves at home. I am totally desperate and depressed. Sometimes I think this never stops and then I want to end it forever. These thoughts never completely get out of my head! Is that just me?”
► Jakob (17), student from Augsburg: “I feel like I belong to a completely lost generation. The shit with school and online classes isn’t going at all. I shit all over the place and everyone is stressed about the grades. But I can’t get out of this vortex like a total loser. Can you help me?”
► Leyla (17) writes: “Hi, I think there is no point in reporting here anyway, but it doesn’t matter. I just have no more strength and can no longer. Nobody will care if I’m no longer there. “
Problems in the second lockdown were more stressful
Melanie Eckert, 32, psychologist and co-founder of krisenchat.de explains: “There is a clear difference between the chats in the first and the second lockdown: The topics have become more difficult and stressful. Can I just do all the stuff with homeschooling? Am I losing touch with my friends, my clique? Why is there suddenly violence at home? “
Some turn to hotlines or chat programs on their own – with others, the situation only escalates before they can finally get help.

Pediatrician Dr. Martin Karsten (61) from Berlin: “I had two children (13 and 16) in the last week who were expressing suicidal thoughts. The children portray their situation in a very dramatic way. They are narrowed and desperate and then say sentences like: “I don’t want to live under these circumstances, what good does that do me if I can’t see my friends?”
