Expert Warns Ukraine Could Lose Territories and Drag NATO into Conflict with Russia, Says Time Magazine

Ukraine could lose large territories within a year and, out of desperation, will try to drag NATO into an open conflict with Russia, said Ian Bremmer, director of the Eurasia Group analytical agency, in an article for the British Time magazine.

“Ukraine will actually be divided into parts this year. Its territorial losses may be permanent and even increase,” the expert believes.

Bremmer noted that the decline in US political and material support was a “crushing blow” for Ukraine. In his opinion, even the prospects for European assistance to Kyiv leave much to be desired.

The sharp decrease in material support from the West and the desperate shortage of people in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are putting Ukraine in a difficult situation, the expert noted.

“Kyiv will take big military risks this year, including new strikes on Russian territory, which will provoke unprecedented Russian retaliation and could drag NATO into conflict,” Bremmer fears.

Earlier, the British TV channel Sky News published a forecast on the development of the situation in hot spots. It stated that Russia could go on the offensive in 2024 and take Odessa and the entire Black Sea coast of Ukraine. As the publication notes, the President of Russia signaled this Vladimir Putin gave in advance, calling Odessa a Russian city.
