In the condition of mature bones or curvature of more than 45 degrees, the brace is not much use and undergo surgery if the scoliosis curvature is more than 45 degrees.
Scoliosis surgery is a major surgery on the spine with a risk of death and paralysis. “However, with the development of technology, the risk of death and paralysis can be reduced, even close to zero percent,” he said.
He said that now there are navigation tools and robotic spine which serves to guide the surgeon in inserting screw at the time of operation. Navigational accuracy and robotics in entering screw claimed to reach 99.9 percent.
In addition, these navigational and robotic devices allow minimally invasive scoliosis surgery or surgery with smaller incisions and less risk of bleeding, thereby reducing the need for blood transfusions. Currently, there is also a nerve monitoring tool that can monitor the condition of the nerves during the operation.
Phedy explained that scoliosis can be cured depending on the severity and symptoms experienced by the sufferer. So, it is important to check early, so that action will be taken quickly and appropriately.

“Call an orthopedic doctor if you feel symptoms of scoliosis,” said an expert in treating spinal problems, such as back pain, neck pain, pinched nerves, spinal infections and spinal deformities both with conventional and minimally invasive techniques.
He explained that there are four factors that can cause scoliosis, one of which is a genetic factor called Idiopathic Scoliosis. This type of scoliosis is the most common. In contrast to the condition caused by damage to the bearings and spine that wears out with age, it is called Degenerative Scoliosis.
The condition of damage to nerve and muscle tissue that causes a curvature of the spine is called Neuromuscular Scoliosis. Meanwhile, Congenital Scoliosis occurs due to abnormal growth of the spine while still in the womb.
There are several symptoms that can be seen, so that a person can be diagnosed with scoliosis, for example the patient’s body leans to one side, one shoulder is higher, one shoulder blade is more prominent or waist height is uneven.
This disease cannot be cured without the help of an orthopedic specialist, because the doctor will conduct a more detailed and detailed examination of the symptoms experienced by the patient as well as a physical examination, such as asking the patient to stand up, bend over and see how severe the asymmetrical posture is.
