TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA- Indonesia actually has a long and relatively successful history in several infectious diseases, such as choleramalaria to tuberculosis.
Griffith University Epidemiologist Dicky Budiman said, currently Indonesia has a multi-drag resistance threat.
“Drugs no longer work on the bacteria and this is dangerous because it is fatal,” said Dicky added.
This tendency is even greater during the pandemic.
Health programs that are carried out regularly have been hampered due to the pandemic in the last two years.
For example treatment for tuberculosis patients or for example immunization programs.

Program immunization can prevent vaccine-preventable diseases but these programs don’t work properly during a pandemic.
This problem, said Dicky, is not only experienced by Indonesia. Including also some advanced.
“This invites a problem called the reborn phenomenon. This must be pursued.
Several pending health programs should be pursued. This of course requires management and data must be strong,” he said.
Likewise with the quality of human resources and infrastructure.
Everything should be improved and should not be delayed.
“Because even though this is a pandemic, in my opinion, the next outbreak is in sight. And we must be ready from now on, if we don’t want to suffer a greater burden of social and economic losses,” he concluded.
