Expert Predicts Borussia Dortmund to Top the Bundesliga Table with 75 Points

In fact, Borussia Dortmund even goes into the final sprint with a lead. If Dietmar Hamann has his way, the long-distance duel will not be as exciting as currently thought.

In the end, BVB ends up with 75 points well ahead of Bayern, who only have 70 points with the former Munich midfielder. Hamann sees his former club fail on Matchday 31 at Werder Bremen and on Matchday 33 at home against RB Leipzig, in both games he is counting on a 2-2 draw. Because Dortmund marches through in his tip, the master race in the expert prediction is decided prematurely.

Championship celebration to Augsburg?

With an away win at FC Augsburg, BVB would already shoot their way to the championship in Hamann’s calculations on the 33rd matchday on May 21st. The season finale against FSV Mainz 05 would only have statistical value and would primarily serve to prepare for the handover of the championship trophy, which would go to Dortmund for the first time since 2012. It remains to be seen how realistic this scenario is. One thing is clear: In principle, BVB has the simplest task for the title. Five wins and Bayern can do whatever they want.

Schalke and Hertha are relegated

By the way, those BVB fans who bathe in Schadenfreude could celebrate twice as much according to Hamann’s prediction. Because in addition to the championship for black and yellow, the expert also foresees the relegation of arch-rivals FC Schalke 04. The Royal Blues only get one point from the remaining five games in the tip of the ex-national player and have to go straight back down to the 2nd division. Schalke would share the bitter journey with Hertha BSC, while Hamann predicted that VfL Bochum would go into relegation.
