Expert Hockey Analyst and Skills Coach Discusses Top Teams and Players in the NHL Playoffs

It was the Bruins organization that the hockey analyst and skills coach talked about first. And not only because Czech hockey players David Pastrňák, Pavel Zacha, and Tomáš Nosek shine in the colors of Boston. According to Peslar, the team is literally loaded with stars. “Bergeron did not play the last match, Bertuzzi moved into the TOP 6. It’s a luxury not to have a player like that there on a regular basis,” says the expert on the Příklep show, emphasizing that if he can, he won’t miss the Bruins game.

Like the whole crowd of experts, Peslar was also curious about the traditional hockey bastion from Toronto, which has been waiting for success for a long time. “I’m curious about Toronto, how the series with Tampa will develop. To get seven goals in the first game… I expected it to finally pass the first round, so I hope I didn’t burn myself,” he muses aloud about another of the series of first round elimination battles. Toronto then dominated the second duel of the series at home.

“I really enjoy Carolina’s game and of course they watch Martin Nečas. The team seems very energetic, you can see that the players are enjoying the game on the disc,” the Czech expert offers his view of the Hurricanes’ performance. “They don’t want to get rid of the puck. It’s not about randomly generating shots in their approach. They simply prepare chances. When it falls a goal from a distance, so through a good screen. But mostly they score from the actions they prepare,” says Peslar, who does not hide his ambition to one day get into the most famous league in the world as a coach.

According to the expert, Colorado still has to be reckoned with in the West. “I think it’s a team that should reach the finals again,” the coach estimates the chances of the Avalanche organization. The host of the show Honza Homolka from O2 TV added the Edmonton Oilers to the list of teams with big stars, in whose jersey Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl shine. “Does the team prove to be more than individuals?” asks guests in the Sport.cz studio.

Peslar gives him a clear answer. “It’s probably true, except for one passage of about ten minutes, McDavid didn’t stand out that much. It’s about the team concept of the game. In Los Angeles, he knows well where the biggest threat is waiting for them, and if they can eliminate it, they have a great chance to succeed,” he thinks.
