“Coupling failure”: This is the cause the railway often cites when the electric trains of the Breisgau S-Bahn were not on time or have completely failed. But why is coupling so difficult and are there other problems that are responsible for train failures? Martin Selig is responsible for the whole of Baden-Wrttemberg as a technical expert at Deutsche Bahn. He was now available to answer questions at Freiburg Central Station. The ambitious original concept should be targeted again from December.
“From my point of view, what is required here is very demanding. If I take a Bundesliga table for comparison, then the track plays for the Champions League places in terms of complexity,” said Selig with regard to the East-West Connection of the Breisgau S-Bahn between Kaiserstuhl and the Black Forest.
