Experiment to see if the Apple Watch can help detect COVID-19 – EzAnime.net

Apple has partnered with researchers from the Seattle Flu Study and the University of Washington. The goal is to understand how the Apple Watch and iPhones can help predict respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.

Six-month project to see if Apple Watch can detect COVID-19

Participants are required to complete a short survey on the Apple Research iPhone app each week and wear a study-provided Apple Watch both day and night. Nasal swabs will be provided for testing for COVID-19, as well as any acute respiratory illness if they become ill while participating. Those who live in the greater Seattle area, are 22 or older, have an Apple iPhone 6s or higher, and speak and read English are eligible. Participants must be able to participate for up to six months. The ultimate goal is to find out if the Apple Watch and iPhone can detect early signs of respiratory diseases like COVID-19.
