Experienced Czechs figured out how to refuel at a big discount. Each liter costs a few crowns less to any pump

For a while it seemed that at least fuel prices would be a small consolation in these troubled times. Although six months ago they quickly jumped to record highs of over 50 crowns per liter of gasoline or diesel, they eventually began to decline relatively quickly.

Prices are going up again

A few weeks ago, it appeared that the situation in the fuel market was normalizing and that we would be pumping fuel at only a slightly higher price than a year ago. But then it reversed again and prices went up again. Petrol, which was cheaper for a long time, is now back at 43 crowns per liter, and in the case of diesel, the fifty crowns limit will likely be tested again.

So the Czechs began to think about how to get some relief from these high prices. And they found that the possibilities really exist and are relatively easy to achieve.

The options are there

For example, the gas station network Petrol, which belongs to the Polish company Orlen, has launched an interesting project called Tankarta. With it, it is possible to save a crown per liter of fuel at each service station of this network. At the same time, the discounts can be even higher at various events. In partnership with other companies, it also offers higher discounts.

OMV service stations now also have an attractive offer. When you download the MyStation apps, you can collect points and use them to get fuel discounts. For one point you get a discount of up to three crowns per liter of fuel. A big advantage is that if you download and activate the application, you will immediately receive 100 welcome points.

You can also collect points at Shell petrol stations. You can then exchange them for various rewards, but they can also be regularly used for additional fuel discounts. A similar program is also offered by the Mol pump network, where a special event called a fuel discount is launched from 25 October. In addition, you can get a discount of 30 crowns for standard fuel and 60 crowns for premium fuel for each refueling.

Entrepreneurs and the self-employed can usually save a lot more. Just use your identification number and apply for a fuel card. They often offer discounts not only on a certain network, but across the board at all gas stations.
