“Experienced Coach Bílek Leaves Mark in Pilsen and Viktoria Searches for Replacement”

Experienced coach Bílek will leave a big mark in Pilsen. Last season, he led the team to the championship title, and for the fourth time in the club’s history, the team from Pilsen played in the basic group of the Champions League. After an unsuccessful spring, however, comes the end of the cooperation, which will come just after the end of the current season. “After the autumn, no one would have expected that the spring would end so badly for Pilsen,” describes Petr Mikolanda, host of the Přímák show.

Viktoria thus needs to find a replacement for Bílek. “We are talking about 4-5 names from the Czech league here. But it will depend on what style Pilsen will follow. Bílek gave Pilsen style and order. But in the spring it didn’t give him the points he needed. In addition, he got them into the Champions League and saved the club thanks to that,” he recalls the achievements of the Czech coach.

“It depends on whether he wants an experienced coach from the position of Vítězslav Lavička. Or maybe buy out Martin Svědík from Slovácko. I also pay Jiří Jarošík, for example. A young coach who ended up in Teplice, but has great promise for the future. They can also reach for a foreigner,” realizes the former football player, who had to end his active career due to health problems.

The name of the new coach will largely depend on whether the owner of Pilsen, Adolf Šádek, manages to find a replacement or a significant investor. “Pilsen must answer the question of who will be the owner and whether anyone will buy it at all. After that, it depends on what style he wants to lead the club,” explains football expert Mikolanda.

A variant to a more favorable financial situation may be the sale of some players. Several variants are offered. “I have three players here. Staňka did not like it in the spring and the price went down compared to the winter. Bucha has above-standard quality, but I don’t see him in the top league yet. There is also the two-meter Chorý, who could also go to the Dutch or Belgian league,” he highlights some possibilities.
