On Saturday, April 15 of this year at 20:00, the second event of the unique format “rap AKApella” will take place in Liktendarza Saieta House – the experienced rap artist Arturs Skutelis and the young hip-hop representative indigo or actor Igors Shelegovskis will present their lyrics and specially prepared programs to the audience without the usual music. accompaniment.
The unique “rap AKApella” format means that the prepared programs, lyrics of authors and performers are without musical accompaniment or “a cappella” format, allowing listeners to hear the performance of rap masters in a unique, much more direct and intimate atmosphere.
The message of rap lyrics is dense, dynamic, and multi-layered, rich in metaphors, references, and plot twists, and is usually accompanied by musical accompaniment within a certain rhythmic pattern that partially distracts from the lyrics. The purpose of the “rap AKApella” events is to convey the message in a more direct way, revealing new facets, and to let the tempo dynamics and accents be dictated by the performer himself.
Two rappers perform at each concert of the “rap AKApella” series. The first one, which took place on March 18 of this year, featured Ansis and Finķis in Liktendarza, and the visitors followed the performances of both artists, sometimes actively participating and supporting their musicians. The first “rap AKApella” event was sold out.
The April 15th concert starts at 8:00 p.m., 140 seats are provided. The fate garden has thought about visitors in wheelchairs, the second “rap AKApella” concert will also be available for 10 visitors with limited mobility (together with a companion).
