Performed by hundreds of volunteers, it brings together more than 30,000 spectators every summer! The Battle of Castillon is the biggest show in New Aquitaine, scheduled until August 19, 2023.
“It’s a real sound and light show that traces the last battle of the Hundred Years War” sums up Sonia Lacombe-Laydu of the Castillon 1453 association. The date on which the fighting took place between the Anglo-Aquitaine forces and the French army of Charles VII. The result ? A 90-minute night show, where soldiers in costume, cavalry and pyrotechnics compete for a great show organized on a vast stage located below the castle of Castegens.
“Spectators are invited on a journey through time to the heart of the Middle Ages. Directed by Eric Le Collen, the show offers many stunts, equestrian performances with around forty horses and teams, fireworks, it’s really worth the detour. More than 600 volunteers, including 250 mobilized each evening, are there to reconstruct this historic event and animate the Parc Aliénor, from 5:30 p.m. A total of 15 performances are organized this summer.

In the Landes, the music and street arts festival ”Musicalarue” is held from July 28 to 30, in the town of Luxey, located in the middle of the Landes forest. The program is very rich with 60 music groups and 20 street arts companies. And among the headliners: Michel Polnareff, Matthieu Chedid, Jain, Wax Tailor and Benjamin Biolay. Finally in Civray in Vienne, the festival ”Au fil Du Son” also has a great line-up, from July 27 to 29, with Angèle, Lorenzo, Izïa, Adé or Shakaponk.
