Experience the Day of Your Life with French Comedy “In the Taxi with Madeleine” at CINEWORLD Mainfrankenpark

The feisty 92-year-old Madeleine gets into the cab of grumpy cab driver Charles. On the journey through the Paris of the past and present, the two experience the day of their lives unexpectedly and in a roundabout way. Christian Carion is directing and the leading roles are superbly cast with French icon Line Renaud and movie star Dany Boon.

CINEWORLD Mainfrankenpark is presenting the wonderful French comedy “In the Taxi with Madeleine” on Thursday, May 18th at 4 p.m. in its Film-Café. It starts at 3 p.m. with delicious specialties from the cake and torte manufacturer “Tortenglück” from Westheim. The cinema team also serves aromatic coffee. The film starts at 4 p.m.

With “Im Taxi mit Madeleine” director Christian Carion (“Merry Christmas”) succeeds in creating a drama about the big and small mysteries of life that is as wise as it is lively. A taxi ride into the past that arrives in the present and brings together two people who could hardly be more different. Movie star Dany Boon (“Welcome to the Sch’tis”) plays a stricken taxi driver having the ride of his life as Madeleine, played by French icon Line Renaud (“Call My Agent”, “Welcome to the Sch’tis “), gets into his taxi. The script was written by Christian Carion and Cyril Gely (“Monsieur Chocolat”, “Diplomacy”).

Paris taxi driver Charles (Dany Boon) is having a pretty bad day. He is deeply in debt, threatens to lose his driver’s license due to numerous traffic violations and his marriage is in danger of breaking up. But then Madeleine (Line Renaud), an elegant, resolute 92-year-old woman, gets into his cab. Since she assumes at her age that it could be her last taxi ride at any time, she asks Charles to make a few stops on the way to the nursing home: she would like to see the places that were important in her life again. Charles, initially angry and grumpy, drives off. With each stop, Madeleine’s amazing past unfolds and Charles becomes increasingly intrigued by her stories. He tells her about his troubles and Madeleine wouldn’t be Madeleine if she didn’t have some advice for Charles with her sense of humor and her wisdom. What begins as a normal taxi ride turns into a profound adventure, like life itself…
