“A wonderful place and atmosphere, good music and dancing, delicious grilled food and refreshing drinks go hand in hand here,” Latvian Blues Band musician and festival organizer Jānis Bukovskis promises a great day. Being happy about the financial support of the Ropaž municipality and the fact that there are more and more new faces among the audience every year, he boasts that artists from Africa, the USA and all over Europe have visited the festival in previous summers. “The courtyard of the Ropaži Culture and Education Center on the banks of the Great Jugla, surrounded by old oak trees, turns into a blues Mecca, and at this only blues festival in Latvia, I feel as if I were in New Orleans or Memphis, on the banks of the Mississippi River,” says Jānis Bukovskis. He invites you to bring seating so that everyone can sit where they like while listening to the musicians’ performance.
