Alix, from town to town between the Orient and the Mediterranean

By exploring the work of Jacques Martin, the MuséoParc Alésia takes the visitor on an unforgettable journey following the very first Gallic hero of the comic strip. Built in partnership with the publisher Casterman, the scenography proposes “entering the comic strip with Alix”, from the temporary exhibition space to the atrium, via the permanent exhibition.

We walk in the footsteps of Alix to discover the cities of the 1st century. av. J.-C.: Marseilles, Rome, Pompeii, Athens, Babylon, Jerusalem, Petra and Alexandria, without forgetting the sanctuary of Olympia. The images taken from the comic strip reveal the organization of the cities and, for each one, a remarkable architecture and scenes of contemporary life from the siege of Alésia in the Mediterranean basin and in the Near East. The exhibition also highlights the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

At each stage of the course, games and manipulations allow young and old to explore the interior of buildings or reconstruct architectural ensembles.
