NEW YORK – Summer temperatures are returning with a vengeance to kick off the work week, which is expected to rise nearly 90 degrees before the possibility of thunderstorms in the three-state area later in the day.
Monday started with dry weather, but showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, mainly north and west of New York City and remain a threat until around midnight. Some storms can have gusts of wind as a cold front moves. Harmful winds are possible, but at this time the general risk of bad weather in the region is low.
