Expected snow on Thursday

Several counties can expect precipitation in the form of snow on Thursday. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for snow in Oslo, Akershus, Buskerud, Vestfold, Telemark and Agder for tomorrow.

Snowdrift danger

Snow is expected from Thursday morning to Thursday evening and can reach up to 20 cm in some places. It will first start west in Agder, and then spread eastwards.

– It is expected around 5-20 cm of snow over 200-400 meters, says on-duty meteorologist Siri Wiberg to Dagbladet.

She says that the warning mainly applies to the eastern mountains and west and north of Oslo, as well as Akershus.

– It will vary in some places. On the coast, the precipitation will probably come as rain, the meteorologist emphasizes.

– Calculate extra time

She also says that there is a danger of snowstorms on Thursday, because wind is expected. However, she states that the snow will probably disappear again on Friday, with the exception of in the mountains.

In a post on Twitter, meteorologists urge to take it nicely on the roads. They write that it can be difficult driving conditions locally and that snowdrifts and can lead to reduced visibility and the possibility of column driving and / or closed roads.

– Calculate some extra time for transport and driving. Use the right tires and drive according to the conditions, they write on their website.

Fortunately, spring is back already on Friday.

– The sun is expected back on Friday and will probably take the snow that is on the ground. Then we are back to spring and fine weather, says Wiberg.

She adds that good weather and good temperatures have been reported over the weekend.
