The most precipitation will occur in Western Norway south of Stad, write Meteorologists on X, formerly known as Twitter.
– A low pressure over the British Isles increases slightly in intensity and pushes towards Norway. It is likely to get really wet, says meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, Eirin Walstad Ristesund, to Dagbladet.
A low pressure sweeping in from the south gives a wet start to the week in southern Norway ☔☔

– Not something we want
But it is therefore not certain that it is Western Norway that will have the greatest consequences as a result of the low pressure. Ristesund says that the low pressure will also bring warm and moist air to Eastern Norway.
Large parts of Eastern Norway have in the last week fought against the extreme weather “Hans”.
– It’s not something we want right now, to put it mildly.
She says that Western Norway will receive less rain than Eastern Norway, but that the amount of water in the flood-prone areas can cause problems.
– The precipitation can come in areas that are already saturated with water and the consequences are then potentially more challenging in the east, even if there is more in the west.
Ristesund says that there will be a danger warning for torrential rain.
– It is perhaps not the best news I could have brought.

Waiting for the high pressure
Towards the weekend, however, there are good chances for a lot of dry weather and sun in Eastern Norway, as most of the precipitation moves northwards from Wednesday.
– On Thursday, a high pressure will come over Norway which will hopefully bring a few days of dry weather in southern Norway.
Northerners have been able to enjoy good weather in recent weeks, but now the weather change is on the way.
– Now is the time to dust off the umbrellas, urges the Meteorologists on X/Twitter, who write that several low pressures will make their way north in the next few days.
– And finally give a proper top-up with rain in the north. The most rain will be on Thursday, they write.
