ONLINE: Today, Petra Vlhová fights in the 1st round of the giant slalom in Soldo…

Petra Vlhová won Saturday’s slalom and scored 100 points. However, it was not enough for her to take 2nd place in the slalom ranking, where Wendy Holdenerová finished with a lead of 25 points. In the last slalom, the Swiss took 5th place. Mikaela Shiffrin won the small globe.

However, she dramatized and rapidly increased her chances for 2nd place in the overall ranking. In it, before the slalom, she was in fourth place with a loss of 44 points to the third Federica Brignone and 142 to the second Lara Gutová-Behrami. However, neither of them started in the slalom, and since Petra Vlhová got 100 points, she moved up significantly.

She overtook Federica Brignone and reached the 3rd place, where she is 42 points behind Lara Gutová-Behrami and 56 points ahead of Federica Brignone. Mikaela Shiffrin has already won the big globe.

All three will compete in the final giant slalom, where, in addition to the podium in the overall ranking, they will also fight for the podium in the giant slalom ranking. Mikaela Shiffrin already has a small globe in it too.

Petra Vlhová is in second place, but only four points ahead of Lara Gutová-Behramiová and 10 points ahead of Federica Brignoneová. The Italian Marta Bassinová also has a point less.

VIDEO: Petra Vlhová did not find a killer today. Take another look at her winning…

In giant slalom, the math is relatively simple. If we count on the fact that they all end up in the best positions, then the one that will be the highest will occupy the 2nd place. Two will celebrate and two will end up off the stage.

But what does Petra Vlhová need in the fight for second place in the overall ranking? If she wins, Lara Gutová-Behramiová will be able to finish fourth at best. If Petra Vlhová was “up to” second, the Swiss must drop to at least 7th place.

The giant slalom starts on Sunday with the first round from 09:00 and the second is scheduled from 12:00.

In the final race, only the first fifteen female skiers score points. How are points awarded?
