With a few years of delay, the Lachine Hospital expansion project is about to see the light of day.
A large-scale project that has been improved since its inception and which will benefit from certain lessons learned during the pandemic
The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, officially announced on Tuesday that the expansion and modernization project would finally begin in 2022, almost 4 years after the first shovelful of earth.
In a few years, the bill for the project has gone from 75 to 95 million and it will finally total more than 200 million dollars.
The new 16,500 square meter unit is expected to be delivered in 2025. In addition to the operating theater, it will have 62 single rooms.
Temporary facilities will also be set up to better cope with a possible pandemic. The main building will also be renovated.
