In order to implement the strategic goals of the company and improve the efficiency of the processes, “Fazer Latvija” has started an investment project in expanding the warehouse of the Ogre bread factory, where new premises will be built for storing frozen and fresh products, thawing products and preparing them for the assembly process, as well as expanding the assembly area and equipment in modernization.
Fazer’s strategic goal is to strengthen its position in all its operating markets by developing high-quality and modern products demanded by customers. As part of this strategy, the company systematically renews its production capabilities and logistics solutions, thereby ensuring ever-new consumer needs.
The implemented investment project will improve Fazer’s supply chain, which is essential for all three Baltic markets, will enable more efficient satisfaction of buyers’ needs and wishes, improve customer service, employee safety and daily work processes.
“Our goal is to effectively develop the bread business in the Baltics, improve processes, products and develop business in new segments of the bread category. To implement the goal, it is necessary to expand the product assortment, using product production synergies within the “Fazer” group, as well as developing cooperation with other suppliers. This investment will directly contribute to the implementation of our strategic goal and increase our competitiveness in the Baltic markets,” says Anne Mere, head of Fazer Bakery Baltic.
The project has been launched, and the first construction works will begin in early October 2023. The initially planned handover time is spring 2024. The total value of the investment is approximately 5 million euros. The project is implemented with the support of the Rural Support Service of the Republic of Latvia.
In 2022, the net turnover of “Fazer Latvija” was 32 million euros, while the net turnover of the “Fazer” group was 1.1 billion euros.
