HERMOSILLO, Sonora.- To relieve the influx of students and workers who go to the Industrial Park sector, to the south of the city, The Institute of Mobility and Transport (Imtes) expanded the service of Line 6 with route 601.
According to the agency, there are approximately 10 units of Line 6 that were assigned to this circuit during the day from Monday to Sunday, at three times: at 05:30, 12:00 and 18:00.
While the original line reaches De Los Seris street at the height of the Technological University of Hermosillo (UTH), the additional route contemplates going up to the North on De Los Olivos street to the road to Sahuaripa, and from there, to the West towards De Los Ganaderos boulevard and Periférico Sur.
Until the creation of this route, only public transport Line 4 served this area of the city, aspect that was criticized last year by students and authorities of the Conalep I and III upper secondary schools, who commented that the trucks passed very full or the drivers refused to take them, even at night.
EL IMPARTIAL has documented how complicated mobility is in this area.
Line 6 passes through the University of Sonora (Unison), Casa Hogar Unacari, La Sauceda park, the Center for Social Readaptation (Cereso) and various neighborhoods to the north of the city passing Progreso boulevard.
The Institute assured that the special line 601 will continue to operate normally during the holiday period and holidaysbesides that there will be no extra charge for the use of the special route.
This is the second expansion of a transportation line that Imtes has carried out this year, the first being Line 17 Express, which now includes the Tierra Nueva, Puerta del Rey, Natura, and Paseos del Pedregal neighborhoods, north of Hermosillo.
