Thanks to a cooperation with DAZN, the streaming portal will show up to three live games from the clubs of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema or Sadio Mane in the Saudi Pro League season, which begins on Friday. So far, only the games of the Ronaldo club Al-Nassr could be seen there.
The Saudi football project is highly controversial. With many millions of petrodollars from the sovereign wealth fund, the league has primarily signed older stars from the top European leagues. Human rights organizations accuse the kingdom of numerous misconduct, the offensive of the Saudi Pro League is assigned to the area of ”sportswashing”.
