As the group EXO’s Kai suddenly decided to enlist in the military, there was a setback in the comeback as a full group.
On the 3rd, his agency SM Entertainment said, “Kai was preparing for EXO’s comeback scheduled for this year, but due to a recent change in the regulations of the Military Manpower Administration, he will enlist at the Army Training Center on the 11th, receive basic military training, and serve as a social worker instead.”
According to Kai’s intention, no special event will be held on the day of admission.
EXO has recently become a full group in about 4 years with the return of members who were away due to military service. Last month, they held a fan meeting ‘EXO Clock’ to commemorate the 11th anniversary of their debut in Seoul and Japan and met with fans. I was planning to release an album here, but there was a change in the schedule. In this regard, the agency said, “We will inform you as soon as the contents are sorted out.”
Kai, who learned the news a week before his enlistment, was also taken aback. Kai conducted a live broadcast on social media that day and said, “I also found out (the news of enlistment) today,” and “I was worried because it was so sudden.
He said, “I prepared a lot, but it’s a pity. I’m upset that I couldn’t show it, but I can show it to you after going there.”
With this, Kai will be the sixth member of the team to fulfill his military duty, following Xiumin, D.O, Suho, Chen, Baekhyun, and Chanyeol who have completed their military service.
