Exit polls: Macron loses parliamentary majority | Abroad

French president paralyzed for next five years

PARIS – Emmanuel Macron suffered a major defeat in the parliamentary elections. According to an initial estimate, he and his allies will win 224 seats, well below the 289 needed for a majority. This will make government very difficult, if not impossible, for the next five years.
