“Exit Family” series: Top techno events in unique locations by AC2B organizer, featuring “Exit Ruine” rave at Burg Wertheim in 2023 with Pan-Pot & SHDW & Obscure Shape as headliners

The event is part of the so-called “Exit Family” series of the organizer “AC2B” from Würzburg. Our media company spoke to Sebastian Kunz, the company’s managing partner, about the “Family” concept. He reported: “The concept was created in 2016 from a series of events in Würzburg.” The aim was to create a techno branding that only takes place in unique locations.

The term “exit” in the title stands for “next stop”, in this case for the special locations such as ruins, residence, machine house. The implementation of the events is also family-friendly. “The whole concept came about with several friends and family members. To this day, everyone from grandma to mother is on board at all events and helps where it is possible,” said Kunz happily. At the events, the aim is to stage localities and thus stand out from other events. The series includes a whole range of events. Kunz listed raves at Wertheim Castle, in front of the Würzburg Residence, at the Würzburg Stein vineyard and at Veste Coburg. They all have one thing in common: “Top locations combined with top acts from all over the world.”

When choosing the venues, Kunz and his colleagues have special requirements. “We only consider locations that are not off the peg.” This meant that they did not want to host on a simple meadow. “For me, a special location is associated with a unique environment.” He cited Wertheim Castle as an example. “One of the oldest castle ruins in Baden-Württemberg like the one in Wertheim is simply very rare. The flair of the walls and the historical impressions create an incredible backdrop for such an event.”

Just the idea of when this castle was built and now, hundreds of years later, doing something modern there is a great idea for him. “It’s the same with the residence in Würzburg. Here, too, we work with a world heritage site, historical buildings and not with off-the-shelf locations.” We want to keep this special feature, since not everyone can hold events there. “You need a lot of experience here and you have to know the situation well.” In addition, his company attaches great importance to regional locations for the raves. “For us, it’s a brand for the greater Würzburg, Wertheim and Main-Spessart area. All of our guests are from the region and we want to give something back to them.” For the time being, no new venues are planned for the series. “Unless we notice a great new location,” he added.

The family aspect is also taken into account when it comes to the number of guests. It says on the ticket page of “Exit Ruine”: The open air should keep its family character with 1500 visitors. Therefore there will be no more tickets on sale.

The rave “Exit Ruine” 2023 at Burg Wertheim will take place next Saturday, May 20, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Entry is open to people aged 16 and over. “Pan-Pot & SHDW & Obscure Shape” will be heard as international headliners. “A week ago in Brazil and now at Wertheim Castle” says Sebastian Kunz, managing director of the organizer “AC2B”. There are also local DJs. In addition, various light shows are planned and the beer garden is to be made more attractive for the guests. “The guests don’t just come to us because of the music, but because of the location. We are very grateful that the city and the castle gastronomy as well as all Wertheimers have our backs and have supported the event so well for six years now. Thank you for that,” said Kunz. One assumes a fully booked event. Tickets are currently still available. “Exit Ruine” will only take place once this year. Kunz explained: “We have decided to become more exclusive, and sometimes less is more.” That’s why the second event on August 5, 2023 will be called “Unreal” and will be a little more special musically. This is intended to increase quality in the long term. bdg
