Exhibitions invite family visits

Three exhibitions worth seeing, presented by the VVV, the Stadtmuseum Förderverein and the city of Burgdorf as well as Scena – the cultural association in the VVV, invite you to visit them on the city festival October market days from October 4th to 6th. The walk along the festival mile in the city center can be ideally combined with a tour of the city museum (Schmiedestraße 6), the KulturWerkStadt (Poststraße 2) and the Magdalenenkapelle (at the high bridge). All exhibition locations are in the immediate vicinity of the October Market city festival.

The city museum focuses on an exhibition by the Burgdorf cycling gallery. It’s called “Speed ​​- Fast Bikes”. It provides an overview of the development of cycling and has many attractive exhibits that reflect the technical development from the running machine from 1818 to the first bicycles suitable for racing in the 1890s to ever faster two-wheeled vehicles in the present.

The science fiction exhibition “Star Trek • Stargate • Star Wars – clamping blocks, plastic worlds and figurines” can be seen in the KulturWerkStadt. The Star Trek Club Hannover is responsible for the compilation. Visitors will encounter numerous figures and spaceship models assembled from clamping blocks, which are based on the models from well-known science fiction films and series, as well as computer games and comics from the fantasy genre that fans enjoy cult character.

In the Magdalenenkapelle, Scena – the cultural association in the VVV shows the exhibition “SUSPENDED” with drawings, embroidery and sculptures by the artist Patricia Dreyfus, who comes from Senegal and has lived in Berlin since 2012.

The following special opening times apply to the city museum and the KulturWerkStadt on the October market days: Friday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibition in the Magdalen Chapel is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free.
