The Maison Epigenetic, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, hosts the works of the artist Patrick Melchior. A free exhibition open to all.
From this Monday and until March 18, the artist Patrick Melchiorspecialized in the creation of graphic art paintings, invests the Epigenetic House, in Paris, with its colorful and geometric works mixing drawings, photos, and materials (wood, Dibond, Canson, PVC…).
“I make paintings from original drawings, and sometimes photos. Once the desired result has been obtained, I cut my table on the screen into small boxes, I rework them one by one before printing them,” he explained.
Between design and illusion
After which, the artist, who has worked in the video game industry and management, assembles these boxes on a previously constructed frame, “with a depth providing a real relief effect”. His paintings are composed of 36 to more than 200 boxes, and the result is mesmerizing.
In addition to his paintings, you can also admire a series of Artboxes, cubic boxes made of dibond with the designs of his creations. Useful and decorative, these art objects are handmade by Patrick Melchior.
