The Museum of Art and History of Judaism is offering an exhibition around Helena Rubinstein’s personal collection, entitled The Adventure of Beauty, from March 20 to August 25, 2019. A dive into art, fashion or still the photography which does not leave indifferent.

“The Empress of Beauty” comes to Paris for a walk … Museum of Art and History of Judaism devotes an exhibition to Helena Rubinstein, titled The Adventure of Beauty, from March 20 to August 25, 2019. A retrospective that offers to dive headlong into the personal collection of this Polish industrialist who founded the eponymous cosmetics company, through plethora of documents, objects, photos, engravings, clothing, tapestries, paintings, sculptures and other works.

Among the exhibited artists, we find Marc Chagall, Louis Marcoussis, Elie Nadelman, Michel Kikoïne, Sarah Lipska or Maurice Utrillo. An exhibition that traces the life and history of this exceptional woman, whom Jean Cocteau named “the empress of beauty”. And a great lady who knew “reinvented the culture of beauty by adapting it to modernity“and who started collecting early arts and painting very early on.

Helena Rubinstein also poses for older children: Raoul Dufy, Salvador Dali, Marie Laurencin… So many artists who have captured all the beauty and refinement of this passionate woman. An exhibition which ultimately attempts to show all its facets, by relating the stages of the life of the art collector in the cities that mattered to her, namely Krakow, where she was born, but also Paris, Vienna, London, New-York, Tel-Aviv or Melbourne. The opportunity also to discover more about one of the first women to have known how to highlight the beauty of each one.
