However, today the cries have been replaced by laughter and expressions of astonishment thanks to the Exhibition of Illusions.
The exhibition, which opened its doors this Saturday, April 20, seeks to show the public about the functioning of the brain in the face of illusions, the optical mechanisms perceptives and the various ways in which our minds analyzes phenomena misleading.
The exhibition was organized and installed by a group of Italian entrepreneurs, led by Lorenzo Cantini and Gianluca Salvatori, who in the past have mounted seven other exhibitions in various cultural venues located in countries such as Spain, Taiwan, Mexico e Italia.
Located on the first floor of the historic venue y composed of four roomsthe Exhibition of Illusions It houses some 70 pieces and installations with which visitors can interact: mirrors that change reflections, giant kaleidoscopes, multicolored chromatic figures, shadow games, and even the use of virtual reality viewers.
Next to the pieces, QR codes were placed that lead to videos explained by professor “Humberto Elexperto”, which will serve as a guide to explain how most of the exercises work.
There are also photographs, which invite visitors to reflect on different perceptions; An example is the mirror of truth, where we can perceive how other people see us from their perspective.
The Exhibition of Illusions It will remain in force until the month of December at the headquarters of the Palace of the School of Medicine, located at Calle Brasil #33, col. Center, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, Mexico City, in front of the Plaza de Santo Domingo.
Admission to the venue costs 180 pesos for adults; children and students, 100 and seniors who present identification, 160. Tickets can be purchased at the museum box office or on the website
