DUBAI, 5th June, 2020 (WAM) — The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government concluded the first phase of the Executive Leadership Camp with the end of the program for the second batch of the camp, which is intended for directors of departments in the Dubai government, with the participation of 22 associates and more than ten guests who shared their experiences with the participants.
During the second batch, the camp relied on methods of participatory interaction and the active participation of the trainees, and the use of a mixture of theoretical tools, practical applications, and workshops aimed at achieving the objectives of the program in providing the participants with a set of knowledge and applied skills, in addition to a set of specialized activities to enhance positive leadership traits, as well as exercises and tests. His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al-Marri, CEO of the College, indicated that the second batch of the Executive Leadership Camp focused on qualifying future government leaders, to contribute to advancing government excellence by highlighting the UAE’s development experience, and the importance of leadership in positive impact and creating change. What is hoped for in government work systems and talent development, in line with the vision of the wise leadership and the directives of the UAE government, which is characterized by its pioneering and successful experience in flexible government, as well as transforming challenges into successes by investing in innovative and creative tools and methods, which had a major role in exchanging opinions and bridging distances. between leaders, government and society, knowing the requirements of individuals and different sectors, and thus achieving national goals.
The first day of the second batch program hosted 3 main discussion sessions, the first entitled “Leadership by Influence – A Book of Confidence and Inspiration – Lessons”, presented by Dr. Khaled Al-Wazni, Associate Professor of Public Policy at the College, and the second entitled “The Future of the Work Environment and Talent Management in Institutions”, Presented by Saleh Al-Hamouri, training and development expert at the college, and the third, entitled “Government Strategies and Ways to Liberate and Enhance Productivity,” was presented by Professor Raed Al-Awamleh, Dean of the College. The first day also included an interactive activity entitled “Put Your Strengths into Action” with Captain Maen Odeh, and a closed discussion workshop entitled “UAE Competitiveness, Opportunities and Challenges” presented by Ms. Arwa Al Falasi, Acting Head of the Initiatives Development and Implementation Department at the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics.
The second day included a number of important dialogue sessions, starting with a session entitled “State Security in an Era of Turmoil” presented by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Saba’ Al-Marri, followed by a session entitled “Prospects for the New Global Economy” and another session entitled “Prospects for the New Global Economy and the Dubai Economic Plan”. Presented by Dr. Khaled Al-Wazni, Associate Professor of Public Policy at the College. An interactive activity entitled “Attributes of Future Leaders” was organized, presented by Mr. Saleh Al-Hamouri, and a dialogue workshop entitled “A Session with Leaders” was presented by His Excellency Abdul Basit Al-Janahi, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises.
The third day aimed to highlight the importance of technology and renewable technical developments and their impact on all aspects of daily life and the economic, governmental, educational and other sectors. In addition to defining the importance of investing in new opportunities offered by the digital age and transforming challenges into successes achieved on the ground, a session was organized entitled “The Future of Smart Technology, and its Dimensions for Governments, Institutions and Society”, presented by Professor Youssef Al-Assaf, President of the American University of Rochester in Dubai, and a dialogue workshop titled “Session with Leaders” presented by His Excellency Tariq Al Janahi, Deputy Executive Director of the Dubai Statistics Center, Dubai Digital Authority.
The college is preparing to launch the second phase of the Executive Leadership Camp next November, and it will be directed to government leaders at the local and federal levels, to support and enable them to achieve the visions and aspirations of the UAE government in the future and to enhance their leadership spirit and thought.
