Executive Branch transfers more than S/ 55 million to ensure the food care provided by the Common Pots

This standard will ensure the sustainability and financing of the Common Pots for the benefit of the most vulnerable population in situations of poverty or extreme poverty, in order to complement their basic food needs.

The Executive Branch authorized a transfer of S/ 55,087,164 in favor of the Common Pots, to ensure continuity in complementary food care.

Through Supreme Decree No. 046-2024-EF, published today in the Official Gazette El Peruano, it is established that the resources from this transfer will be channeled through the Qali Warma National School Feeding Program of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion ( MIDIS), to serve 4,638 Common Pots nationwide, thus benefiting 288,696 people.

This standard will ensure the sustainability and financing of the Common Pots for the benefit of the most vulnerable population in situations of poverty or extreme poverty, in order to complement their basic food needs.

In addition, it will strengthen the work that the Government has been promoting in the fight against anemia, especially in children under 3 years of age, thus reaffirming the commitment to prioritize resources in favor of citizens.

The supreme decree also establishes that resources cannot be used, under responsibility, for purposes other than those for which they are transferred.

It is worth mentioning that common pots are citizen initiatives for food support or attention, which can be temporary or permanent, with community participation. They bring together people in vulnerable situations who cannot access food or who do not have the economic capacity to acquire it.
