“In Italy there are laws in force that cannot be overturned by a festival”: Maria Rita Gismondo, heard fromAdnkronos Salutehas his say on the participation of Madame a San Remo. “Until justice completes its investigations, Madame is an innocent citizen. Exclusion would be the affirmation of a justicialist conduct that does not belong to our democracy”, continued the director of the laboratory of clinical microbiology, virology and diagnostics of bio-emergencies of the Sacco hospital in Milan.
Madame, a singer competing at the next edition of the Festival, is involved in an investigation into fake Covid vaccines. And the virologist and Pd senator spoke about her participation in the event yesterday Andrea Crisanti and the infectious disease specialist Matthew Bassetti. The former asked for his exclusion from the next Festival, while the latter said “just look back”.
In particular, Crisanti had spoken to the microphones of A Day as a Sheep on Rai Radio 1 and had made a comparison between Madame and a well-known sportsman: “She should be excluded from San Remo as was Djokovic in tennis”. And again: “It is a problem of lies, a question of civilization and an example. I don’t know if this is a crime but it is not ethically acceptable”. On the other hand, Bassetti has a different opinion: “Let’s look forward and not back and avoid speculation”. He then stated that it should not be the doctors and scientists who deal with the case, but the judiciary: San Remo, as doctors, it is not our place to say. I think Crisanti deals with San Remo as a politician”.
