Hungary’s richest man, Viktor Orbán’s childhood friend, has been rarely in the public eye lately, especially since after all was caught on a gigantic luxury yacht and that, in parallel, documentary filmmaker László Pesty began to refer to the so-called “Lölő phenomenon” as a harmful phenomenon. Mészáros rarely gives interviews in the first place, most recently it became state property for National Sport spoke, the topic was exclusively football. In it, the former mayor of Felcsút talked about, among other things, that the Puskás Academy founded by him and Viktor Orbán would be named “Uncle Öcsi would be proud”. The interview was written by the editor-in-chief of the state sports daily, who used to be a journalist at the Puskás Academy.
He declared already the billionaire for the Index, even in 2021. In this interview, he talked about the fact that many people do not like his “committed right-wing stance” and called it understandable that “the opposition attacks the government through the Mészáros Group and other economic actors connected to the right”. The issue of public procurements won with a political tailwind comes up already in this conversation, Mészáros says about it that „it is a left-liberal misconception that jobs are given to entrepreneurs”.
