Exclusive! Jeremy Ayala talks about his music and his father Daddy Yankee

Jeremy Ayala grew up watching his father Daddy Yankee conquering stages worldwide. Today the 26-year-old artist triumphs in the industry creating musical hits alongside stars such as J Balvin, White Sea, Mike Towers Feed.

“It’s been incredible. The fact that each one trusts me to collaborate with them when creating music is something incredible and enjoying their respect as a professional makes me feel very proud of myself,” the Puerto Rican producer told People in spanish.

While he lives a private life, away from the cameras and the stage, his happy place is the recording studio. “I’ve always loved music, but I feel like it was in my teens that I became a little more curious about how the instruments are created so that artists can record their songs,” Jeremy adds. “I’ve been making music since I was 16, learning and absorbing knowledge at universities and studios so I can develop and slowly grow in my career.”

Her friendship with José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, the interpreter of “Mi gente”, is something she treasures. “My friendship with Jose is unique. I feel that life gave me a very good friend, who I consider my brother and I can trust to ask for advice and guidance,” she says about the Colombian singer. “Collaborating with him is a vibe because we share ideas and exchange thoughts.” Together they have created hits such as “Polvo de tu vida” and “La noche”, a duet with Of the V

In the Big Boss of reggaeton —whose real name is Raymond Ayala— he has had the best example. “From my father, the most I have learned is to be disciplined. He always made me understand from an early age that talent can only take you so far, and that discipline and consistency will take you where I want to go.”

Daddy Yankee, with whom he has a close relationship, has encouraged him to follow his dreams. “I am proud to say that my dad is very happy with what I have achieved in my career alone,” says Jeremy. “Whenever we talk about music, he tells me that I am on the right path and have a good focus.”

He has happy memories of his childhood in Puerto Rico. “What I remember most from my childhood is when I played basketball. I played on many teams and I was able to make many friends I have today thanks to sports,” he says.

When he’s not creating music, the globetrotter enjoys traveling and playing basketball. “I really like being with my wife and having relaxing days. Sometimes going to different places, traveling with her, but I also like playing basketball with my colleagues,” he says.

In his partner – the Puerto Rican publicist Andrea De Castro Ayala, founder of DeCastro Media—has found her best ally. “What I fell in love with most about Andrea, besides her beauty, was her way of seeing the world and understanding the circumstances of different people. The way she saw how life should be made me fall in love a lot.”

The couple tied the knot in 2021 on Isla del Encanto. “She is always ready to work and pushes me to continue with consistency and stay on top of our things, our evolution as professionals and individuals,” he adds.

His goals are clear. “My plans on a personal level have always been the same: to find ways to continue learning and growing as a human being,” he admits. “On a professional level, to continue in the studio to create a new sound and add to the culture. To be able to get together with more artists and create unique things that impact the world.”

The dreams yet to be fulfilled are his ‘fuel’ to keep fighting. “My biggest dream will always be to get a Grammy,” he confesses. “I feel that by achieving that recognition and achievement I could say that I have reached a certain place in my career that I always wanted,” admits the producer. “As a human being, my dream is to have my family with my wife, to have a strong core between her and my children.”
