“What really hurt me is that people around me were also approached”
Viewers of the ninth season of Married at First Sight saw things go terribly wrong between Malou and Sarath in Lapland. “If you watch the episodes again, Sarath comes across as the victim and I as the bitch,” Malou reviews the images of her failed TV marriage. “I received messages that I was only concerned with myself, that I was fat and ugly. But also that I had no respect for him.”
Malou tries to be as unconcerned as possible about ‘anonymous internet heroes’. “But what really hurt me is that people around me were also asked: ‘Are you friends with Malou, is she such a bitch in real life?’ That hurt more than the haters on Facebook and X.”
In the program, Malou already made it clear that she quickly felt the mismatch with Sarath. Actually, on the wedding day itself. “I also fed this back to the experts.
