In a 6,000 m2 warehouse where metal was once worked, a 500 m2 swimming pool is being built in which a permanent wave 9 meters wide and 1.60 meters high is generated.

There should be a beach and a relaxing atmosphere all around. Expected: a tree house, hammocks, beach volleyball courts, various bars and restaurants.

The founders Hendrik Blecher (39) and Patrick Schneider (36) from Düsseldorf, both active in the metal industry, came up with the idea because traveling was almost impossible during the Corona period. Blecher to BILD: “But I wanted to go surfing, I thought to myself: ‘It is missing in the middle of Düsseldorf, where everyone can easily reach it’.”

A new city club is also planned. One long side of the hall will be mostly glazed, opposite will be a beach bar with sunbeds, fireplace and space for surf beginners. The founder: “You can watch the surfers from the beach club through the window, like in Hawaii.”

The park is expected to be open all year round and bookable for companies. An hour of navigation will cost between 40 and 50 euros and admission will be free. Most importantly, a rooftop solar system should provide energy and the well will also ensure heat recovery.

Total investment: approximately 10 to 15 million euros.
