GERB’s candidates won mayoral seats in 6 settlements out of a total of 13 by-elections. For the other 3 mayoralties, our candidates will fight in a runoff next week.
Voters voted in favor of their settlements being run by GERB mayors:
Marieta Paruneva in the village of Ezero (Municipality of Nova Zagora) defeated the BSP candidate;
Vejdi Husseinov in the village of Ticha (Kotel Municipality) defeated the MRF candidate;
Velcho Marinov in the village of Assenevtsi (Levski Municipality) defeated the candidates of DB and MRF;
Maria Zagareva (supported by GERB) in the village of Velichkovo (Pazardzhik Municipality) defeated the candidate of the coalition PP, ITN, BSP;
Mustafa Rashid in the village of Yonkovo (Isperih Municipality) defeated the MRF candidate;
Sinan Nuri in the village of Dragomaj (Isperih Municipality) defeated the MRF candidate.
GERB candidates go to the runoff next week:
Ahmed Ahmedov in the village of Yasenovets (Razgrad Municipality) is running against the DB candidate;
Tsvetko Tsvetkov (supported by GERB) in the village of Lesnovo (Elin Pelin Municipality) is running against a candidate of an initiative committee;
Lyudmila Lyubenova in the village of Tvarditsa (Burgas Municipality) is running against the BSP candidate.
Despite the excellent campaign, GERB’s candidates in the villages of Vetren Dol (Septemvri Municipality), Iliyno (Omurtag Municipality), Rainino (Isperih Municipality) and Todorovo (Isperih Municipality) remained in lower positions.
GERB Chairman Boyko Borissov and the party’s Executive Committee congratulate GERB’s candidates in all settlements for their efforts during the election campaign. We are confident that in these settlements we will justify the trust that people have given us.
