Exclusive Details Revealed About Assassin’s Creed Infinity: Codename Red – Gameplay, Combat, and Base Building Features Unveiled

Last week, Tom Henderson reported on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Infinity guidebook, which should launch alongside the release of the Red title set in feudal Japan. This time Henderson on his own webu Insider Gaming brought more information directly about the game itself, which includes gameplay, combat or base building. We have already unofficially learned that the game should offer two playable heroes – the samurai Jasuke and the ninja Naoé – and a possible appearance of the heroine or a possible plot of the story also appeared. However, Henderson now goes a little further.

The combat system was described to Henderson as being similar to that of Valhalla, but should be considerably more gory, and it should even be possible to decapitate enemies. Stealth will, of course, be an important element, as one would expect from a game from the Assassin’s Creed series (and ninjas at the same time), which has been compared to the Splinter Cell series for a change. There should be elements such as extinguishing torches, hiding in bushes or tall grass, but there should also be the possibility to lie down on your stomach at any time. Henderson also has footage available, but under the condition of non-disclosure, that shows the building of his own large settlement and hideout, again modeled after Valhalla. Here it will be possible to build and improve a number of buildings, which we should also be able to place at will, but also to choose the design, appearance of the roof, the internal arrangement itself and so on. Of course, there will be, for example, an armory or a dojo.

According to Henderson’s sources, the new era of the series, as he refers to it, does not switch to a completely new engine, but a major improvement of the previous one and is referred to as the Anvil Pipeline. This transition and changes meant a complete overhaul of everything for all teams and developers, i.e. including animations and parkour itself, but now they can and will benefit mainly from advanced options for working with ray tracing and global illumination. Additionally, the Anvil Pipeline allows all developers across the various studios involved in the various Assassin’s Creed games to work from a single branch instead of each team having their own, which will undoubtedly make things easier.
