The premiere of the long-awaited miniseries Iveta is fast approaching. You will see the first episode this Friday on Voyo. Iveta Bartošová’s immediate family has now commented on the series. Read how Artur Štaidl’s son and Iveta’s sister Ivana reacted to it.
Screenwriter and director Michal Samir was so fascinated by Iveta Bartošová’s story that he wrote the screenplay over two nights. But the preparations themselves took much longer. They lasted a total of five years. However, Samir emphasizes that the family’s consent was absolutely crucial for him.
“We quickly realized that if we wanted to tell this story, we would have no choice but to go to Iveta’s family and try to make a deal with them. Because I fully respect that it’s someone’s privacy,” says Samir.

He therefore contacted Iveta’s son Arthur Štaidl. At first, however, he feared that he would not agree with the intention to make a series about his mother. To his surprise, however, Arthur agreed.
“Several things convinced me to agree to shoot. I liked that director and screenwriter Michal Samir came to me in person to present my idea in person after years of his research, and yet he was willing to ask if I disagreed,” Arthur described. Staidl began communication with the director.
Another thing that supposedly fascinated him on the script is the director’s approach to his mother. It is not tabloid, as we know it from newspaper articles in recent years, but on the contrary it is very sensitive.
“He told me that his intention was not to build a monument to my mother, but to tell a story that would treat my mother as a man with all his pros and cons. That appealed to me,” says the director’s son Bartošová.

But reading a screenplay that tells the story of his deceased mother was not easy for him. However, he did not interfere with Michal Samir in the script.
“I must add that I read the detailed descriptions of the story before Michal started the scripts and confirmed to you that I hadn’t intervened in it once. It was sometimes difficult to read, but the promise that it was a series about people was always kept. “where no one is good or bad. I don’t think the world is like that,” added Arthur Staidl.
Ivana Bartošová’s sister Ivana also appreciated the director’s sensitive approach. This will be played by Eliška Křenková. “I joined the screenwriter and director at the instigation of my nephew Arthur. I was convinced by the level of humanity and understanding with which Michal approached my sister’s story. I am very much looking forward to the result, I was excited about the trailer,” adds Ivana Bartošová.
Watch the first part of the Iveta miniseries exclusively on Voyo already on Friday, May 6.
