BGN 142.11 per megawatt-hour is the forecast price of Bulgargaz for July, for April it is BGN 142.59 (excluding prices for access, transmission, excise and VAT). The company’s application, submitted to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission for a price in May before the suspension of deliveries by Gazprom Export, was BGN 150.11, and the forecast for June, again before the suspension of Russian gas, was BGN 148.63. BGN per megawatt hour.
It turns out that after the interruption of Russian supplies, the price trend, albeit by a little – 48 cents compared to April, is down.
The company clarifies that in euro their forecast for the July price is 72.66 euros per megawatt-hour and was formed on the basis of price-forming components as of May 11. However, it is not clear what these pricing components are, after the Russian company unilaterally terminated the supply contract.
A comparison is made that the prices on the European gas markets for delivery in July are approximately 95.50 euros (190 levs).
A final proposal for approving the price of natural gas for July will be submitted to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) on July 1, taking into account the quotations of the price-forming components as of June 30, Bulgargaz added.
It is still unknown how much the gas will cost in May. EWRC initially said Bulgargaz would submit an application by May 4th and the regulator would rule on May 10th, but those dates were postponed due to an inspection by the energy ministry’s company, which will end on May 12th.
EWRC sources said they expect the application on Friday, when the commission will rule.
