Major change of the week
If you’ve ever been looking for a colleague Spoonera on CSFD, you might have left disappointed because this nick didn’t exist. Instead, there was milka. My colleague Milan Rozšafný set up an account with this nickname during his wild youth, when he did things that are not talked about in decent society and then had to live with it. But since we met Pom in Vary, all we had to do was ask and within a few minutes milka changed his name to Spooner and the world is finally right. So bookmark him so you know what he’s looking at.
Villain of the week
Every good adventure story needs a villain. You may have noticed that after years, the third part of the legendary fantasy is being made Baldur´s Gate and the heroes’ lives will be complicated by a villain voiced by none other than Jason Isaacs. And he can do bad things.
Musical of the week
When the Avengers musical appeared in Hawkeye in the series, it was a pretty good joke. But this joke is now becoming a reality, as Disney California Adventure Park lures visitors to a musical Rogerswhose hero is Captain America.
Regret of the week
Barbie he’ll be making big money in a few days, but at least not in Vietnam, where he won’t look. In the film, a map appears showing the South China Sea, which lies between China, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei. And part of it is claimed by China. And in the movie map it is actually connected to China, which the Vietnamese don’t like. Warners responds by saying that they are sorry, but that it is a crayon-drawn (and poorly drawn) map of Barbie’s world and is definitely not meant to depict the real world. But this probably won’t be enough of an excuse for Vietnam.
Run of the week
Tom Cruise has already arrived in theaters with a preview Mission: Impossible. And the video that Paramount sent to the world is also about running, because it is a compilation of Tom Cruise’s running scenes from this series. And honestly, no one in Hollywood runs as intensely and passionately as Ethan Hunt.
Studies of the week
Elstree Studios is the place where film legends were born. Star Wars or Indiana Jones were filmed here, and from the newer ones, for example, the series Peaky Blinders was created here. And now they have a nasty problem. Hertsmere Borough Council, which owns the studios, found the buildings there to be in a state of disrepair and potentially dangerous. Lots of asbestos, rotting equipment… it’s enough. And it would cost £200m to fix. And the value of the studies is estimated at half. We’ll see what happens.
Board of the week
Already in August, the game adaptation of the cult horror movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be released, in which you will run from crazy mages and cannibals. But if you prefer board games, then you will also find your way. Texas Chainsaw Massacre it will be released on September 1st and can be pre-ordered now.
Voice of the week
A few washes ago we wrote about the fact that Nicolas Cage will expand the cast of characters in the horror game Dead By Daylight. And he didn’t just provide his face to the filmmakers, he also filmed ten minutes of Cage-style speeches for them.
Dismissal of the week
She got free Allison Mack. She got three years in 2021, but apparently she was good enough to leave the prison gates early. You may remember her from Smallville, where she played Clark Kent’s friend Chloe Sullivan, but it doesn’t look like a big return to the camera. He and Hollywood have their limits, and Mack ended up behind bars for working with Keith Raniere, who headed the NXIVM cult and got 120 years for doing really nasty things to women.
