Exciting Short Stories from Life: Accordion Builder Urs Meier and Landlady Christine Ineichen on ‘Persönlich’ SRF 1

Exciting short stories from life could be heard on the program “Personal”. A very entertaining, informative and heartfelt conversation was held on Sunday by the accordion builder and well-known musician Urs Meier, who grew up in Egg, and the landlady at the Berggasthaus Niedermachen, Christine Ineichen, under the direction of Christian witness.

The radio listeners and visitors to the live talk show “Persönlich” on SRF 1 last Sunday in the Stans Theater experienced a unique acoustic premiere. The guest Urs Meier, accordion builder, virtuoso accordionist with Oesch’s the Third, father of quadruplets and Fischer, as the moderator Christianzeugin briefly introduced him, had transcribed the theme tune, i.e. the personal signet that he has known since his childhood, for the accordion and included as an introduction to the show.
So the starting point for the conversation between him and the hostess at the Niedermachen, Christine Ineichen, which Christian Witness led in a friendly and confident manner, was already there. What music means to the former Egger, who now lives in Emmetten like his conversation partner, is music, to the two years younger, it is gastronomy, or as she says herself: “The mountain restaurant on the Niedermachen is my baby.”
The second commonality then culminated in the fish crispy, which for the landlady is the only type of fish that she offers, while the pike caught by Urs Meier are also processed so that they are appreciated by the family, as he is in his level-headed and humorous way Art told. Funnily enough, the two also have in common that their parents owned a radio/television business and there were also one or two amusing episodes to be heard.

Keywords as hooks
The precise statements made by the two different discussion guests on the topics specified by Christian Witness in the Sunday cult program on SRF 1 repeatedly elicited “scene applause” or spontaneous laughter from the visitors. The ambitious and whirlwind mountain inn boss said one or two sayings. “I would like to be a man,” and then added, “because it would be easier in our industry.” She also said that she had already kissed many a frog, but that she had now found the right prince.
Then the white grand piano in their restaurant, on which Udo Jürgens had already played, came up and encouraged the presenter to come up with the idea of a concert. Which led Urs Meier to say: “I want to talk about that!” And Christian Witness added that his eyes were shining. In addition to the probably most famous Swiss folk music group, Oesch’s the Third, in which the former Egger is the only one without their name to play as a virtuoso accordionist, the gifted musician also got to know many other well-known musical greats or was even able to play with them as a teenager. Above all with the then local old master Martin Beeler, from whom he learned so much. But he also met Karel Gott, who died a good four years ago, a fascinating figure and who everyone knows for his “Maya the Bee Melody”, and had a formative experience. He shared a hobby with him in a big sniffing session, which was something very social, as Urs Meier emphasized and provoked amused laughter from the audience. Karel Gott is certainly his most famous snuff candidate and he took snuff for the first time in his life!

Both have their fulfillment
Areas such as youth, education, joys, the future and of course, last but not least, the family were also discussed. After all, it is rather unusual that, like Urs Meier, you are the father of quadruplets and a girl who is a year younger than you. Or that you have completed several training courses and are still actively involved, as Christine Ineichen said. But also what you still want to achieve in your life.
